The result of the move request was: moved. Clear support and precedence to drop "channel" from the title. Selected the title suggested by Necrothesp per MOS:AMP. (closed by non-admin page mover) —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 15:06, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
Disney XD (British and Irish TV channel) → Disney XD (UK & Ireland) – I'm citing the RM at Talk:Channel 33 (Israel) and and WP:NCBC#Disambiguation as the rationale for this RM; pinging Number 57 to weigh in on this, as he/she did over there. I feel that DAB is unnecessary since "Disney XD" has no other composition apart from on TV (video-on-demand and/or streaming came in or embraced it recently). - Oppose per guideline. If you have an issue with the guideline, start a RFC and change it. Gonnym (talk) 16:19, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- I've tweaked the rationale now; see the two links aside "Number 57" for clarity. An RFC of some sort on this has been proven already. Intrisit (talk) 13:50, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Support per the guideline, which explicitly mentions Disney Channel as an example:
Where it can be reasonably expected that all of the articles with the same base name will be of the same type, e.g. radio stations named "Fresh FM" or television channels with the name Disney Channel, disambiguation can be done by country and then by state/province or city if necessary (e.g. Fresh FM (Netherlands); Bay FM (Brisbane)).
The guideline states that "channel" is only necessary wherethe title shares a name with unlike topics
. As can be seen at Disney Channel (disambiguation), all other Disney Channel articles are on the same type of topic. Number 57 19:03, 16 December 2024 (UTC) - Support The proposed RM and Number 57's comments correctly read my intention in that section of NCBC when I rewrote it in 2021 (after the Channel 33 (Israel) page move). - Comment. Neutral, but if moved it should be to Disney XD (United Kingdom and Ireland). Ampersands are best avoided and we usually spell out the name of the United Kingdom in full. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:09, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Show me which WP/MOS guideline spells that/those out! Mind, redirects are cheap despite the titling of "(UK & Ireland)" and "(United Kingdom and Ireland)". Have a look at other titles with these DABbers, especially the TV channels. Intrisit (talk) 13:42, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
