One breaches or contravenes a court order

edit

The article says the subject "broke a court order". I see that the word "broke" is used by a NZ Herald cited source], but I think that using that wording is too informal. Newshub reports that "Breckenridge breached a parenting order", which is more precise. Although section 78 of the Care of Children Act terms this offence as contravention of a parenting order, the Community Law Centre also uses the term "breach" to describe not following this type of court order. I have updated the article to use breached a parenting order. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 11:32, 5 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you Cameron Dewe. I think yes it's a tricky one to figure out which is the right way to write it. I believe saying, "breached" works fine! --ArleneHerman (talk) 05:09, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
