The article on Diggle railway station barely merits the stub assessment. It is in great need of improvement, with in-text references. RuthAS (talk) 19:21, 13 January 2009 (UTC) The 1963 closure date given in Butt for this station isn't correct (possibly a misprint) - every other date given online or in books such as "Passengers No More" (Daniels & Dench, 1980) list it as 7 October 1968. This was the date on which the local all-stations stopping service between Manchester Victoria & Huddersfield was withdrawn by B.R and many other wayside stations on the route (namely Saddleworth, Clayton Bridge, Slaithwaite, Golcar and Longwood & Milnsbridge) also closed to passenger traffic.
