Libertarian?

edit

The article called him libertarian. Since he called for the execution of the Wikileaks Founder and supported the war in Iraq he cannot be a libertarian. I have corrected this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.146.181 (talk) 00:00, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Neutral Tone

edit

The expression "he happens to be gay" does not sound very encyclopedic or neutral. It sounds like Murdock wrote it himself (i.e. like a self-written bio). This should be written in a factual manner, like "Murdock is gay." I have changed the expression to "Murdock himself is gay." Westwind273 14:33, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please do not revert to "happens to" without explaining here on the Talk page. Westwind273 20:05, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Possible COI issue

edit

Please see Wikipedia:HD#Please_restore_missing_text_to_Wikipedia_page_for_Deroy_Murdock. When the desk is archived, I think it will end up at Wikipedia:Help_desk/Archives/2012_January_8#Please_restore_missing_text_to_Wikipedia_page_for_Deroy_Murdock, but it probably won't get there for a day at least. If more attention is needed, I'd advise posting to WP:COIN. --NYKevin @408, i.e. 08:47, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

MSNBC Countdown "Criticism"

edit

Something which plagues more than a few Wikipedia pages is the inclusion of random "criticism" sections that attempt to compile a running list of every critical mention of an article's topic. On the subject of this article, one section in the criticism paragraph states:

Murdock was named runner-up "Worst Person in the World" on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann after writing an article titled "Three Cheers for Waterboarding", in which he called waterboarding "something of which every American should be proud."

I removed this outright, but wanted to start a dialogue here to see if others may have different feelings about this. Olbermann's "WPITW" segment was a daily feature, and the case couldn't possibly be made that every subject of which should have a paragraph in their articles tagged with such a mention. Since it's a politically charged show, as are those of his counterparts on the right (Hannity, O'Reilly), it doesn't lend too much creditability to the encyclopedia to include each passing comment thrown the way of the hosts' political opponents. Thoughts? —DMCer 03:32, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Follow-up: Stances on waterboarding, etc. would be more appropriate in the "views" section of this article. That way, the page retains a neutral POV, while still communicating the subject's views (without the disapproval of said subject's political opponents).—DMCer 03:43, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
