A photo dated April 7 1906 in my possession clearly shows that the building previosly named Bonded Warehouse in some photos in this article has a sign extending to some 50% of its roofline "Great Northern Railway Goods Wharf". Aspdin (talk) 21:32, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Friar Gate v Friargate edit

"Friar Gate" is often erroneously merged to "Friargate". This article shows a confused mix. For Derby, the correct manner of writing is "Friar Gate". I will let a more determined Wikipedian change this error. Aspdin (talk) 21:32, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where the word "Friargate" is used by an organisation (eg. British Rail) or by an author (eg. Susan Bourne), then the article should respect their usage. In other places the 'correct' "Friar Gate" may be used in the text. Therefore the article will necessarily be inconsistent! -- MightyWarrior (talk) 16:31, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Neutral Point of View edit

This article reads very much as a personal point of view where the reader is given the opinions, thoughts and emotions of the writer as he experienced the site. e.g. "When walking to Mackworth through Great Northern Road, I was suprised by the building whilst walking around the perimeters of it." The writer's surprise doesn't need to be expressed in the article and, in my opinion, makes poor and cumbersome reading.
