Why?

I'm still hoping - made the above comment months ago. Why do birds bother? I heard on BBC Radio 4 once that the amount of energy used in singing is proportional to the spare energy the birds have in the morning - so a comparatively mild night would lead to more singing, a cold night less. Do bird brains really sing because they are happy to have survived the night - I dount very much they are capable of emotions like that. Move article?

I have just added three examples of non-avian animals that produce a dawn chorus. There is insufficient detail on these for a stand-alone article so I have added them here. More info please, about the Dawn Chorus itself

1. It is insufficient to claim that the D.C can also be heard in the U.S.A. when it is a known fact in many if not most areas of the world
2. This article should include more descriptive/encyclopedic information about the Dawn Chorus before going in to lical detail

Who can improve this ?
