List of Works

Due to some confusion when I was reading his list of works, I reorganized some of the songs that began with "the" i.e. "The Gathering of the Ranks at Hebron." When I initially read the list I searched for "The Gathering of the Ranks at Hebron" under G. I also believe that "Nilesdance" "Havendance" and "Graysondance" should be together, but should they be put at the bottom of the list maybe?--Ryan Vesey (talk) 17:29, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Inclusion of Controversy

Earlier today, I added some information on the controversy regarding Holsinger's joke about transgender people. I did so because I saw it as relevant information for his personal page, and lesser events have lead to permanent edits on pages before. It was removed and re-added a few times, with reasons for removal being that the edit was "leftist propaganda," "simply a differing opinion," and "slanderous."

As much as I see why the inclusion of this could be controversial itself, these reasons do not hold water.

I do not claim to have a political opinion on his post, but he did say them and they did receive enough feedback to be notable. This knocks off the first two. As for it being "slanderous," this implies that it's untrue and/or for the purpose of hurting him. Obviously the first isn't the case, and as for the second, this inclusion was just to put in relevant information that was already out there.

I could have just re-added the edit again, but I wanted to have a discussion instead. Otherwise, this would just be editing back and forth and could cause more problems for this article in the future. Let me know your thoughts.

That's fair. I did include a source to his response about the situation, but the original post was removed for now and it's not exactly been "covered" officially. Seems like a lot of the poorly sourced stuff was just pulled from his Facebook and plopped in there anyway. Hopefully a more cohesive way of getting all of this info in there can be put together soon, but until then I understand the deletion of both my post and the inclusion of his biography in general. - Pythasis (talk • contribs)

People who spout transphobic nonsense should be held to account. Doing so is neither "leftist propaganda" or "simply a differing opinion." Transphobes might have an opinion, but it is wrong. Transgenderism is not an opinion. That being said, we must source the stuff correctly. Unfortunately, the truth is not good enough for Wikipedia without "verifiable sources." So, let us keep a keen eye for such sources and update the page as soon as possible. Being fair, however, if Holsinger decides to issue a REAL apology instead of his bullshit, "Please don't treat me like Robert E. Lee," nonapology, that should also be included in any update of the page.There can be only one...TheKurgan (talk) 23:53, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
