http://www.legendsofkansas.com/people-a-2.html is cited to support that, but no quote is supplied so it's unclear which part does. Can anyone find anything?
Sue's article says "the second oldest of seven children." so there is an inconsistency here... Olivia comet (talk) 18:36, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
Cause of death edit
The info box says his death was caused by gunshot and assault. In the body of the article there are references to violent incidents occurring when he was younger, but the narrative says nothing about his death but that it occurred at age 80. Whilst there are certainly many documents instances of men of that age being shot to death, it is unusual enough that there should be under the heading of "Death" some description of this death. Again, I am not saying that a violent death is utterly implausible, given his occupation and outspokenness documented elsewhere, but I cannot help but think that what happened to him earlier in his life and the cause of his death at age 80 may have been, in absence of further documentation, conflated. 72.106.148.122 (talk) 13:35, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
Relieved of command? edit
Was he relieved of command for refusing to turn escaped slaves back over to Confederates? See here page 48. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:18, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
