Service record
editPoole's service record is online at http://naa12.naa.gov.au/scripts/imagine.asp?B=8017991&I=1&SE=1 and appears to contradict some of the statements given in the secondary sources. On his army attestation papers his occupation is given as seaman, not marine fireman, and his height as 5 foot 7 and three-quarter inches, not 5'8". David Underdown (talk) 16:28, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- The service record also mentions a number of disciplinary issues which are skated over by the secondary sources. David Underdown (talk) 16:30, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- This seems to indicate that Poole had a further period of service in World War II. 25 Oct 39 - 28 Nov 41, serving as a petty officer stoker in the RANR. — AustralianRupert (talk) 12:45, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
