Under British company law, the mere resemblance of part of the names of two companies carries no indication that there is any connection between the two. It's like Apple Incorporated has no connection with Apple Corps, even though there is plenty of similarity in their names.
Some of them may be "paper" companies, a company that is registered but has no intent of actually transacting any business. I can think of two situations for that: first, they may have been registered speculatively, in the hope that somebody may one day pay big money to gain that name - a bit like domain name squatting. Second, it takes time to register a new company, and there are agencies who register several "paper" companies so that if somebody needs to start a new company quickly, they go to one of these agencies and buy one ready-made (so to speak) saving a lot of time and effort. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:10, 31 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
