Cuminol? edit

Is this the same compound cuminol mentioned in the article terephthalic acid? Albmont (talk) 16:26, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

They are related, but not the same. Cuminol has an alcohol functional group in place of the aldehyde group in cuminaldehyde. -- Ed (Edgar181) 16:37, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I did a web search, and I almost added a redirect - thanks for preventing me for vandalizing wikipedia again. Albmont (talk) 17:20, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

IUPAC Name edit

Is the IUPAC name of cuminaldehyde really 4-(1-methylethyl)benzaldehyde? I'd rather say it's 4-isopropylbenzaldehyde, 4-(2-propyl)benzaldehyde or even 4-(propan-2-yl)benzaldehyde. Mehinger (talk) 17:53, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
