proposal sports (Cricket 20)

But why it couldn't be on the table? There could be an explanation on the column 'Type'. And why there is a checkmark on Water polo at 2002 & 2006 Games? Sports, disciplines and events

This article contradicts itself a number of times. The section "Sports, disciplines, events" defines the terminology but the rest of the article (such as the sections "Types" and "Approved sports") indiscriminately refers to disciplines as sports. McLerristarr / Mclay1 13:43, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

waterpolo

waterpolo was (according to this) only played in 1950 so the table on this page appears incorrect. The results according to that site were to gold to australia, silver to new zealand, but it doesn't list a bronze medal - so perhaps it is an incomplete list ? Shooting sports in the table

Hi, There seems to be an issue with the rows for Shooting sports in the table for optional sports.

The table lists Clay Target; Fullbore; Pistol and Smallbore. This makes no sense.

Up to 2018, the CWG included ICFRA Fullbore Rifle, ISSF Clay Target and then ISSF Rifle and Pistol (which inludes Air Rifle/Pistol, Smallbore Pistol and Smallbore Rifle).

Taken literally then, the table does not count the Air Rifle events (they would not fit in fullbore, pistol or smallbore). They also double-count the cartridge pistol events (in both "pistol" and "smallbore). This is nonsense.

The normal split of the shooting events when discussing the groupings of disciplines is:

• Clay Target
• Rifle (air & smallbore)
• Pistol (air & cartridge)
• Fullbore Rifle

Fullbore sits outside the main rifle group since it's off on it's own 1000yd range and is governed by a separate governing body from the ISSF rifle and pistol disciplines which are all short range and clustered on the 10/25/50m ranges (and there tends to be crossover with air/smallbore rifle and pistol shooters respectively, with many competitors shooting both air and .22 - whereas the fullborers are specialist).

I can rip and replace (at some effort of labour to work out historic events back through the 70s and 80s), but I was just wondering if anyone know what the intent was with these? Did the contributor just get confused? Is there some reason why we have listed out events part by firearm (clay target, pistol) and part by calibre (smallbore)? Thanks!
