coining of term racial profiling edit

I saw a report on ABC News that the actual term racial profiling was coined by the Colorado Springs Police Department in the early 1990s, can anyone verify this? Chris 07:20, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Brutality"? edit

The Controversies section needs revision, especially this statement: Officers are well known for their brutality against innocent members of the public including women and children.

Which officers? Who was assaulted, and where is a citation of specific cases? "Well known" is a subjective statement of the writer ("well known" by whom?) This was written by someone with an agenda and does not belong in an encyclopedic article about a police force. I will remove this statement if there is no objection. Revision on Sgt. Pratt by anon user undone, as statements made therein lacked context and the facts of the case. Heavy bias was indicated by phrasing, which is not in keeping with the mission of Wikipedia. I will redo the statements regarding Sgt. Pratt's potential misconduct in a more cohesive and neutral format. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zecred (talkcontribs) 22:34, 13 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
