The College of Sant’Anselmo is located on Sant'Anselmo all'Aventino, but is quite distinct as one of the four institutions to reside there. The others are the Church of Sant’Anselmo, the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm which is a separate pontifical university, and then the curia of Sant’Anselmo which represents the Benedictine Confederation. Sadly, no one has previous created an article for this important ecclesiastical residential college. This college, like most ecclesiastical residential colleges affiliated with the Vatican in Rome, does not grant an academic degree so one must be careful to place a category of a university on it when that is not what it is. Most Roman Colleges, but not all, are houses of formation where the student will attend another university (usually a "Pontifical" university) for their actual academic degrees. The "collegio" might grant a letter of affirmation that a certain type of "formation" (usually formation for a man to become a priest) has been completed. There are further differences between an "Ateneo" and a "University" which is not relevant for this article. As such, these colleges are quite different than other normal universities located in Rome, and is why they are often called a "Collegio" as quite distinct from a University. The actual article for Roman Colleges poorly conveys this distinction and needs work for those that have the time and interest. MonasticScribe (talk) 04:54, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
