Inappropriate inclusion

Christian right in the US does not imply fundamenal christianity - it means right wing politics and some form of christianity - could be catholic, fundamentalist, etc. As such, I've removed it from the DAB. Toddst1 (talk) 19:13, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

So are catholics not christian or are they not pro-life? They're part of the religious right in the US but they're damn sure not fundamentalists. That is a bogus element on the DAB page. I'm not saying the terms are synonyms. Fundamentalist, and "Fundy" are often used by people on the left to describe the Religious Right, in fact more often than the correct usage of Fundamentalist. I would agree with you if you think the manner in which the term is presented on the disambiguation page is poor, but it is absolutely helpful to have it there because of this fact. Also most Fundementalists are part of the Religious Right, because fundamentalism is inherently socially conservative. I will gladly agree with you, as should be obvious already, that those who call the religious right "Fundies" are often not correct, but that doesn't change the reality of the situation, that there is such an association floating around out that disambiguating is worth while.Griswaldo (talk) 22:20, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
