This paper seriously confuses two quite separate Chiefs named "Yellow Quill" as one chief.

One, Oozawekean. was a major figure at Treaty 1 at the Lower Stone Fort on the Winnipeg River. There are many historical references to him over the years prior to his death in 1910. The other "Yellow Quill" was Ošāwaškokwanēpi, actually meaning Blue/Green, but mistranslated into English as "yellow". , . He was involved with Treaty 4 in 1876, and when a reserve was surveyed at Nut Lake, he moved to that location from Fishing Lake. In short, there was a Yellow Quill who entered one treaty in 1871, and another Yellow Quill who entered into Treaty 4 in 1874, three years later, hundreds of miles to the west.
