editChemnitzer PSV is NOT the same football club as Chemnitzer FC! The false and misleading redirect should be removed and page deleted unless someone can create a new page for Chemnitzer PSV. Feudonym (talk) 19:10, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Chemnitzer PSV not the same club as Chemnitzer FC
editThe redirect is false and misleading as these two clubs are completely different. The redirect should be removed and page deleted unless someone can create a new page for Chemnitzer PSV. Feudonym (talk) 19:11, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Feudonym, then you need to put it through RfD. Onel5969 TT me 20:09, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Onel5969, so unless I do that, this false redirect will exist in Wikipedia and my redirect removals will be reverted? Makes perfect sense. Feudonym (talk) 21:32, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Feudonym, yeah, rules do kind of get in the way, I guess. If you spent as much time as you have here, in listing it at RfD, the discussion would be well under way. Onel5969 TT me 23:15, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

- Onel5969 I have never done that before and don't actually have time to look into it. I always edit on a mobile, where it's less easy to list articles at RfD, however one does that, than it is to remove a redirect or add a comment. Anyway, I guess the incorrect redirect will remain for some reason, so every single person clicking on that link will be led to believe false information, unless someone can be bothered to do that. Even if it is removed at some point, the Wikipedia article will have done its job in making people dumber in the meantime, and they will always believe those two clubs are the same. You may think it's a little known article but it affects the legitimacy of the supposed all time highest scoring footballer (Erwin Helmchen), which I am trying to correct. - Feudonym, again, if you spent half as much time taking it to RfD, as you did with the above diatribe, it would have been taken care of. Since it seems so onerous to ask one like yourself to figure out where to look up how to submit to RfD (which literally takes 3 seconds, plus typing your rationale, it can be found here: WP:RFD. - Onel5969, that "diatribe" of mine honestly took me all of three minutes to type on my mobile. Whereas, although it might take me 3 seconds to figure out where to look up how to submit to RfD, there are at least 4 mammoth guides to read, as well as another 1600 words on When should we delete a redirect. I don't need to mention the three step lengthy process to list a redirect for discussion (is that the same as deletion? I've scanned through the guide and I'm still nonethewiser), each with several sub-steps (11 in total), and how "onerous" it is to do all this on a mobile. Anyway, I've since updated the article with the correct information, so this is no longer relevant, but my point still stands regarding why discussing here took me way less effort than listing as RfD.
