KAVEBEAR (talk) 01:12, 2 April 2023 (UTC)In 1907, there were fears that Wilhelmina was going to abdicate in favor of her Saxe-Weimar cousins, as a clause in a recent legislative bill submitted to the Dutch parliament called for the exclusion from the succession of children born after the abdication of a sovereign.[1] Such fears were misplaced however, as Wilhelmina later elaborated that she had no wish of abdicating, and that the legislation was directed at the widowed and childless Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, who, though well known to be considering giving up his claim to the throne, was considering marrying again; there would have been considerable confusion as a result were he to give up the succession claim in favor of his aunt Marie, only to later pass his claim onto any children he might have.[1]

I have undone some recent edits because there seem to be some issues. The Dutch constitution was changed in 1922 to limit the rights to the throne to the offspring of Queen Wilhelmina. Also Erbherzöge means "Hereditary Dukes" (plural) and not Hereditary Grand Duke. Gerard von Hebel (talk) 05:05, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

What was he doing during the 30s and 40s? edit
Did he express any opinion on Hitler and Nazism? So many other prominent Nobles alive at that time have their position on that a pretty prominent part of their page. I've tried to google this information on my own but most sites don't know more then this one does, and he gets confused with ancestors who had the same name.--JaredMithrandir (talk) 20:50, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
