It is unclear why Chan Heung was deleted in 2007. Perhaps there was inadequate or improper information at that time. If there had been a lack of sources in the past, the current situation surely has changed.

Over the last few years there have been numerous events in China that have taken place to honor the life and achievements of Chan Heung. These include but are not limited to the martial art form he founded in 1836: 1) Choy Li Fut (cailifo in Mandarin) was declared a National Treasure by the PRC in 2007 or 2008. 2) On August 2nd 2006, over 800 people participated in the 200th anniversary celebrations of his birth in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, China. The celebration included martial art forms demonstrations and the guests of honor were the living descendants of Chan Heung. 3) During that same period, a museum was dedicated to him in his home town of King Mui, China. There are numerous photos and videos posted on YouTube and various web sites documenting these events. 4) Very few martial arts systems have lasted for over 170 as the one he founded has lasted.

This is a remarkable bit of martial art history that the world show know about.

References and links are being updated. Neutrality is enforced. I am removing all templates questioning validity and neutrality and orphaning... Huo Xin (talk) 22:00, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup edit

The linking style is wrong for most of the links in this article, and the format of the citations in the references section is not any of the recognized citation styles. Uncle G (talk) 09:22, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
