Challenger di Roseto degli AbruzziInternazionali di Tennis - Regione Abruzzo – Even if i am not entirely sure of this title change i don't feel comfortable with the actual one, using the preposition "di". Usually these types of titles don't match the official titles, and are shortchanges for longer titles. My rationale for the change of title is that the regional Tennis Federation, and in this article, this one, and this too, is used the proposed title. We already have a tradition of "Internazionali di tennis - Città di XXXXX" with the name of the italian city (Todi, Perugia, Forlì, etc..) where the ATP Challenger is played, and we have a prominent precedent for the title abovementioned in Internazionali di Tennis del Friuli Venezia Giulia with the name of the region instead of that of the city (Cordenons). I am aware the name on the official draw pdf is "Regione Abruzzo Aterno Gas & Power Cup" which is composed of the region name plus the sponsor name, but i recall there is already consensus on not using sponsor names on the main page of tournaments. Still I am not, i repeat, entirely sure we should make this move. I am ok with changing the title into "Roseto degli Abruzzi Challenger" or "Challenger Roseto degli Abruzzi" if you don't agree on the proposed one. 87.20.107.44 (talk) 12:26, 7 March 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 00:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also, we should add I at the end of the title since next week it will be another tournament there, back to back 87.20.107.44 (talk) 12:26, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - I don't see anything wrong with where the article is right now. I don't see the purpose of removing the preposition from the title and the alternatives presented are either not supported by sources or don't follow the tennis Wikiproject guidelines. • Oppose Per Tennis Club Roseto we have a source for Challenger di Roseto degli Abruzzi. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:11, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have also upped my sources which are abovementioned and comprise the conference press of the presentation of the tournament and 3 newspapers.
On that link you provided the official name appearing on the poster of the tournament is "Regione Abruzzo- Aterno Gas & Power Cup" which i have already mentioned in my proposal, and which is also the official name on the MD and QD the wikipages of this tournament's single and double are based on. Challenger di Roseto degli Abruzzi is the colloquial name, like anybody would say "Masters of Indian Wells", but would write "Indian Wells Masters", to give a comparision of how "Challenger di Roseto degli Abruzzi" sounds like.
To be fair it's even worse. In fact the correct analogy to "Challenger di Roseto degli Abruzzi" would be "Masters of Indian Wells of California". (Roseto is the name of various italian cities so "degli Abruzzi" is incorportated into the name to specify which one it is)
And again, "Challenger Roseto degli Abruzzi" or "Roseto degli Abruzzi Challenger" (like "Indian Wells Masters") which are not changing the title that much, are fair and valid alternatives to my proposal as well. 82.57.40.105 (talk) 23:33, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
