Jesse Metcalfe vs. Nicholas Gonzalez edit

I edited out the reference to Jesse Metcalfe in the "Notable Graduates" section of this article because I could not find any verifiable proof that he had even attended Central Catholic, and all evidence I've seen points to the contrary. His bio states that he was raised in Connecticut, so it's highly dubious that he would've attended a non-boarding high school in Texas. If I'm wrong, show me why I'm wrong and I will be open to having him reinserted into the list of Notable Graduates.

Nicholas Gonzalez, OTOH, is completely verifiable as far as a "Notable Graduate" is concerned. I chose to make his link point directly to his official website instead of to his imdb profile because, well, he has an official website to begin with. Gonzalez's career might not be as red-hot as Metcalfe's, but I feel that it is very noteworthy (how many of us can claim to have had even a guest role in a TV series of any note?), and so I feel his inclusion in this list is very much an earned one. So. Explanation over. (Krushsister 04:45, 21 September 2006 (UTC))Reply

List of Principals edit

I complied this list from 1983 Alumni Directory. Can anyone complete it?

  • Bro. Anthony Edel 1852-1866
  • Bro. Charles Francis 1866-1882
  • (14 names missing 1883-1932)
  • Bro. Julian Kreschel 1932-1933
  • Rev. William Lamm 1934
  • Rev. Albert Mitchell 1935-38
  • Bro. Henry Ringkamp 1938-43
  • Bro. Louis Scherer 1943-47
  • Bro. Theodore Hoeffken 1947-49
  • Bro. Henry Ringkamp 1949-55
  • Bro. Andrew Cremer 1955-61
  • Rev. Michael Dorsey 1961-67
  • Bro. Louis Ernst 1967-72
  • Bro. DuWayne Brisendine 1972-74
  • Bro. Robert Godfrey 1974-80
  • Bro. Pierre Weitkamp 1980-84
  • Bro. Leonard Rudy 1984-92
  • Bro. Joe Grieshaber 1992-95
  • Dr. Paul Sullivan 1995-2001
  • Deacon William Patrick Cunningham 2001-2009
  • Mr. Edward C. Ybarra, Jr. 2009-present (2010)

I added somes names and dates from Bro. Herbert Janson's autobiography. As of July 2009, Mr. Ybarra became the 35th principal in the school's 157 year history. There is one still unaccounted for in the above list.

TCIL/TAPPS Championships edit

The 2001 football championship was a TAPPS championship, not TCIL. Someone should make a list of TAPPS championships. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.159.154.77 (talk) 20:22, 2 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

Rattle Segments edit

Under Mascot, the link for rattle segments leads to an article about the peyote plant that has nothing to do with a rattlesnake. Unless there is a reason, it should be removed. (I Are Scientists 18:57, 9 April 2007 (UTC))Reply

This must be the connection: "The top of the cactus that grows above ground, also referred to as the crown, consists of disc-shaped buttons that are cut from the roots and dried. When done properly, the top of the root will callous over, and new buttons will eventually grow. When poor harvesting techniques are used, however, the root is damaged and the entire plant dies. These buttons are generally chewed, or boiled in water to produce a psychoactive tea."

Um, right. It would appear to be a missed chuck of vandalism back from last October. I'll make the appropriate fix. Kuru talk 20:25, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bias in Student Life edit

I've flagged the section Student Life because it clearly is written from a fan's point of view and is quite unencyclopedic. It is overly complementary towards Central Catholic's own prep squad and refers to another school's as "a weak attempt to match" theirs. This is a clear indication of bias. Without any particular backing, the article refers to Central Catholic's prep team as "the one and only." This is an open-and-shut case of a fan's point of view.
