Expansion
editThis article needs some expansion- she is one of the more high profile Scottish Ministers. I'll try and do some work on it this week- any help appreciated Thunderwing 22:37, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Pornography section
editI am taking this part of just now: Jamieson has used her ministerial position to promote legislation that would target many sadomasochists and fetishists by proposing to criminalise possession of so-called "extreme pornography". Critics of her efforts maintain that any such move would be a clear violation of Human Rights under EU law, and would result in the persecution of disproportionately high numbers of the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual community. Her attempts to pass legislation in this regard are strongly opposed by a coalition of interest groups under the umbrella of the 'backlash' campaign
The linked website does not mention her or the Scottish Executive having ever made any comments on this issue. A google search of any link only highlighted this website. Any thoughts? Thunderwing 22:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- I can't say I've ever heard anything about it to be honest. Douglasnicol 10:33, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's correct - she co-authored the Government consultation [1] on the matter for starters, also see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4195332.stm for more comments. I note the original wording was rather pov, and contained information better covered in the extreme pornography article, so I rewrote it to something simpler. Mdwh (talk) 22:52, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Air Rifles
editShould mention be made of the campaign to ban air rifles after some of the recent incidents. I can't say I agree with some of the more extreme people as I used to own an air rifle but was a responsible user, but it has been something she has campaigned about has it not? Westminster Parliamentary CND group
editIs the statement 'and is Secretary of the Westminster Parliamentary CND group' still correct given she is no longer a Member of Parliament? The cited reference seems to be from 2011 Dunarc (talk) 18:08, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
