Hugely POV

edit

Does this article have any merit. It drips POV issues from every pore. There os a lot of OR and syncreticism too. Laurel Lodged (talk) 14:16, 28 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

A note on terminology

edit

Since there are two spelling variants of the title term (American English: Catholicization or Catholization; British English: Catholicisation or Catholisation) here are some basic data regarding the terminological frequency:

Similar data can be found on Google Scholar:

It seems that currently there is a slight numerical prevalence in favor of American English variants, so maybe we should consider the possibility of moving the title to "Catholicization" as the most frequent variant of the term. Sorabino (talk) 23:07, 19 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Catholicization

edit

I have removed the section on Albanians as the fact that a part of northern Albania chose to be Catholic is not an event of "catholicization" and it's not described as such a process in the bibliography. Nor is the communion of eastern Orthodox churches with the Roman Catholic Church, a series of events of "catholicization".--Maleschreiber (talk) 14:51, 14 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Catholicization conversion of adherents of other religions into Catholicism. I reverted your bold removal of cited content.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 23:07, 14 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
No, it's not. You won't find any bibliography that describes this process as catholicization. The bibliography here doesn't either, so the section shouldn't exist at all. For now, I expanded it with the historical context.--Maleschreiber (talk) 00:49, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
