Became Governor on Dec 12, 1998

edit

MacKay became the Governor of Florida, upon the death of Lawton Chiles on December 12th, 1998. Even though MacKay wasn't sworn-in until the next day (Dec 13); he automatically became Governor. GoodDay (talk) 23:24, 2 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I guess that the Lt. Governor's office was left vacant then? I remember this guy from my time in the Navy when I was stationed in Jax. He was a weasel. I am so glad Connie Mack beat him. "Hey buddy, You're liberal!" Love it. --24.177.0.156 (talk) 23:48, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

University of Florida

edit

Article needs to be specific about what is meant by "was a member of The Board". I assume that this meant that he was a member of the university's Board of Trustees or similar body, but this needs to be spelled out. I also doubt that it is formally "The Board" with a capital "The" as if it were the famous rock group "The Band". Was he a full member, a student member while enrolled, or what? The editor adding this info, or another knowledgeable person, needs to add this. 2600:1004:B100:7257:F00A:3117:4E4:BC49 (talk) 14:04, 11 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
