Brendan F. BoyleBrendan Boyle – There is no reason to include the middle initial in the article title, since there is no other Brendan Boyle that the middle initial is needed to differentiate from another Brendan Boyle. "Brendan Boyle" redirects to "Brendan F. Boyle". Per WP:COMMONNAME I propose we delete "Brendan F. Boyle" and just have the article "Brendan Boyle". • Support. But for the existence of the prior disambiguation with two red-links to deleted articles (and nothing else), this likely would have been the title in the first place. – Wbm1058 (talk) 18:56, 29 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment: if the middle initial is part of the commonname (such as for J. Edgar Hoover), then it should be included, regardless of whether another "Brendan Boyle" exists or not. HandsomeFella (talk) 18:54, 30 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
A quick Google search finds plenty of sources that don't use the middle initial. Though it's easy to find some that do. Common name: No M.I. Official name: include it. Wbm1058 (talk) 03:15, 4 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Obviously there are going to be cases where use of a middle (or first) initial is either going to be necessary or actually part of the Common Name. Brendan Boyle ain't one of them. Nevermore27 (talk) 04:00, 4 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
