Preservation edit

Well preserved skin?

The article says "The skeleton, skin, hair, stomach and brain are all very well preserved", but I can't help noticing from the image in the article that Bocksten Man bears an uncanny resemblance to a skeleton. As the body was found in 1936, I would imagine that contemporary archaeologists didn't have the resources to preserve the body so it decayed to its current state. I think the article needs to be changed to the past tense. Nev1 (talk) 15:08, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wouldn't they have just put the organs in jars with formaldehyde, like they do with the rest of us? A possibility anyway. Johnbod (talk) 16:25, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's certainly possible (although sadly not covered in the article), but that still leaves the problem of what they did with the skin. Hopefully someone will be able to add some more detail to the article. Nev1 (talk) 17:37, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
:-) As the one responsible for writing/translating much of the article I have to admit he looks a bit skinny... The Swedish article (which is a bit more specific as I wrote it first and then translated it) says that his internal organs were put into a jar to be conserved. It also says that the head had no skin left. I will remove the mentioned sentence and keep "Of the inner organs, parts of the lungs, liver and brain as well as cartilage are preserved." as it seems to be a better description.
