Birth date edit

The present article gives not birth date but, according to Profile article in the "Shropshire Star", (dated Saturday 25 May 2013) his age is given as 75 years, suggesting a birth date in 1937 or 1938, depending on birthday. Unless I can pin down a birthday I am hesitant to give the year in the article.Cloptonson (talk) 13:04, 2 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I attended his thanksgiving (memorial) service today and find that the order of service sheet advertises his birth date of 18 August 1938, and his full name as William Morgan Longmore. I will put this in.Cloptonson (talk) 20:27, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I haven't come across an instance where we've cited an order of service before, but I guess as it's a published document we can do it, and I'd think given the circumstances the details would be correct. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? This is Paul (talk) 20:34, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I wonder if he got entered in Who's Who because of his PCC role? The sketch might back both details up.Cloptonson (talk) 22:08, 12 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Update - relinquished PCC office edit

I will update that he stood down at the PCC elections held on Thursday 5 May 2016. His deputy Barry Sheldon contested the election as independent but lost to a Conservative candidate.Cloptonson (talk) 19:27, 7 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Content move edit

I moved some content from this article to the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner article. The content moved relates to actions undertaken by Longmore in his role as PCC, compared with content left behind which related to his actions as an individual and as an individual seeking election or re-election to be PCC. I believe the two are very different. For attribution purposes, the history of those responsible for developing the original content that moved can be seen in this article's edit history. 10mmsocket (talk) 07:34, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
