A reference to Bill Hopkins is made in the biographical work made by Kevin Macdonald on his grandfather Emeric Pressburger. See the top of page 374, where Bill Hopkins is reputed to be an "angry young man" and has a book, "The Divine and the Decay" (1957) attributed to him. Could it be that this "angry young man" is one and the same Bill Hopkins as the one that wrote "The Divine and the Decay"?

If the results I found in Google are reliable, these are two different Bill Hopkins. The writer is responsible a literary work that even the publisher was embarrassed about, for which reason it is hard to find a copy. The entire print run was recalled and destroyed. The main article here at Wiki is instead on the musician Bill Hopkins, one who instead confined his literary activities to the world of music.

On disagreement with his publisher, a lawsuit in the 1970s led to Bill Hopkin's recovery of control over his literary work. His friend Colin Wilson was instrumental in republishing "The Divine and the Decay" under a new name ("The Leap"), and a second edition was published in hardcover form on July 1, 1984.198.177.27.31 05:03, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Disambiguation page needed

There ought to be a disambiguation page to keep people from confusing the classical musicist (and French translator) Bill Hopkins (who has already passed away) with the British author and philosopher Bill Hopkins (who is still alive, as of March 2007). 198.177.27.20 00:54, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I suggest therefore this article is renamed as 'Bill Hopkins (musician)' to avoid ambiguity. Assuming this is uncontroversial, I will do this now rather than await consensus as this page is rarely visited (and if I don't do it now I'll forget). Ben Finn 10:14, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Name Format

The format of the name is surely wrong, especially the “Bill” in “”. He was born George William Hopkins, used the name Bill as a composer and in private, and the name G. W. Hopkins as a music critic.
