Origin of name edit

a mistake in the origin of the name:

Kale = Tr. fortress Megdan, original Turkish is meydan (from the Arabic meydan) = square

so fortress square, not battlefield fortress.

Hi. True, meydan in Turkish means field, square or an open area in geneal. However, in Serbian, megdan gained different meaning, a battle or battlefield, and as such remained until modern days. Just like deli in Turkish means crazy, while in Serbian it became delija, meaning a hero, brave man. PajaBG (talk) 11:55, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fortress of Belgrade edit

Why Kalemegdan and not Fortress of Belgrade (see Serbian and German wikipedia)? Kalemegdan means only the Ottoman time of Belgrade..--Carski (talk) 16:25, 7 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, i agree with you. Kalemegdan may stay, but there should be also article Fortress of Belgrade. Tadija (talk) 16:36, 7 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Kalemegdan is a name of park and the name of fortress is Belgrade Fortress - Beogradska tvrđava. Please, correct it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.87.206.249 (talk) 13:51, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

MAP edit

This map shows Kosovo as being part of Serbia which is not the case. Of course this remains disputable still the map is not correct I think. It's correct. Kosovo is the part of Serbia.
