One thing that tastes really >great< is a baked bean sandwich with Marmite. It's too bad that stuff costs so much over here in the U.S.

Simplest form.

Surely the simplest form of what can popularly be called a baked bean sandwich is baked beans sandwiched between two slices of bread. I removed the slightly more complex, somewhat untrue and misleading opening of "a combination of bread, butter and baked beans". Exactly the same can be used to describe the completely different dish 'beans on toast'. 82.46.54.196 (talk) 00:24, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

How 'popular' is this sandwich?

I've never heard of this before and the only citation is circa 1920. I've heard of "beans on toast" in the UK, but this seems to be fairly different. Are we sure it's even current?
