Hôtel de ville edit

The caption "Hôtel de ville" should appear with the image on the right, but it does not. "Maire" appears over the door on the photo, so we know this is the town hall. --DThomsen8 (talk) 21:56, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mairie edit

In France, since the revolution, the proper name for the building housing the Mayor, councillors etc should be mairie. Hotels de Ville still exist of course, and are usually pre-revolutionary buildings where the local noble(s) would meet out justice. As MAIRIE is carved/painted above the door, the caption should read 'The Mairie' or the translated 'Town Hall', as Bailly is designated a town.. More info at fr:hôtel de ville. In francophone Canada, its different, of course... Cheers Dickie (talk) 06:59, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
