Israeli warning to the population to evacuate
editAccording to Times of Israel on August 16: IDF orders evacuation of Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah neighborhoods | The Times of Israel the IDF warned the population to evacuate the day before the reported deaths in Deir al-Balah: "The IDF’s calls to civilians are being communicated via leaflets dropped by aircraft, SMS messages, phone calls, and media broadcasts." According to the IDF civilians were warned to leave because: “Due to many acts of terrorism, the exploitation of the humanitarian zone for terror activity, and the firing of rockets at the State of Israel from the neighborhoods in north Khan Younis, remaining in this area has become dangerous.”
