I've just created the initial article. More information based on research to come. Skydive23 (talk) 21:28, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Removed general information that can be easily accessed in Martello tower. Added entry for when the tower was turned into a private residence. It looks a lot less desirable but at least the information is unique to only this entry. Skydive23 (talk) 19:05, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is an excellent resource called the History of Aughinish. I have an excerpt of it that I will be rewriting into the article. Skydive23 (talk) 19:59, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
The source lists purchase prices throughout the tower's history but fails to cite the unit of currency. Examples:
"At the north east tip of Aughinish six acres of land were purchased in March 1811 from Major Lynch for 40."
"In 1960 a Limerick man named Duffy purchased it from the Land Commission for 10."
Any ideas? Skydive23 (talk) 21:28, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
