Tears on My Pillow and Ave Maria edit

"The lyrics describe the young girl from "deep in the bosom of suburbia," who sang "mighty fine," with "'Tears on My Pillow' and 'Ave Maria'" perhaps implying that he was Roman Catholic."

It is probably worth noting here that Ave Maria could equally have referred to The Wedding, a popular song from the same era as Tears on My Pillow (albeit a few years later), and which includes the words "Ave Maria". I believe the song is often mistakenly given the alternative title, and as a popular hit would have been among Ariel's repertoire. Any thoughts on a source for this, or the above statement?
