Weight edit

Her weight was just added as 135 lbs. There was no source for this. Due to that, combined with the fact that this source (contains nudity) says differenty (115 lbs), I have removed this. I don't want to add it as 115 lbs since that source doesn't really look terribly reliable/citable, so a better source would be nice for whatever her weight actually is. -Ethan (talk) 06:48, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

her web site www.ariagiovanni.com lists her weight as 124lbs the preceding unsigned comment is by 144.133.211.190 (talk • contribs) 2005-12-10 09:02:11
That sounds reliable. Adding. -Ethan (talk) 16:19, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

124 my ass. 135+ is more like it. Not saying she's fat but she and others need to stop the ideal, anorexic, skinny-bitch syndrome. She's curvy and beautiful. Hell, her right boob must weigh 124.

I found a site where she's listed at 132, obviously a more realistic number for her body. www.mystique-magazine.com/bio/Aria-Giovanni.html. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.151.87 (talk) 09:15, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Married? edit

I noticed that her marriage to the Marilyn Manson quitarist was removed? Was this false? Are there any reliable sources on this? Elixer25 06:04, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

She divorced him last year —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 144.133.216.184 (talkcontribs).

Aria's IMDB biography [1] says that they are divorced, but doesn't say anything else about it (like when). — Wwagner 06:25, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

IMDB is not a reliable source for bios. see Wikipedia:Citing IMDb. Kingturtle (talk) 13:15, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Real name edit

I have pulled out the "real" name provided as none of the sources can be deemed reliable. First: IMDB's bio page is not reliable as it relies on user contributed content; see WP:P*'s section on real names for more on that topic. Second: There is no way of knowing if the MySpace page in question is truly that of Aria; as a result the source is not reliable. Third: how can anyone think the results of a Google search be a reliable source?? Tabercil (talk) 01:04, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm joining this party a bit late. Would someone explain to me why some people have such a bug up their asses about hiding her real name? I'm not saying there's not a good reason, I just don't know what it is (and why people have made it such a jihad). Hondo77 (talk) 16:06, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Read WP:BLP and WP:V regarding the presumption of privacy and the requirement of verification. Just because a "real" name is repeated often all over the internet does not make it true. Vinh1313 (talk) 18:19, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Her real name is [name redacted]. She attended Western High School in Anaheim, CA, same high school as Tiger Woods and same year, in fact, I believe. I know this because I attended the same school and my wife (who also went to Western) was the same year as her and recognized her from a video. Sure enough, broke out the yearbook and there she was. Everything else matches up if you read what she reveals in her bio, including the year she attended high school and her general area of residence (Anaheim is close to Long Beach). --Edward2332 (talk) 08:25, 5 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have an image in which she holds a driver license and her social security card, which a second image that is a close up of the driver license. The images are likely copyrighted, and not being from the States I have no way of telling whether both documents are genuine. Also, the driver license also contains her address (though that might be outdated now). So can we use that somehow? JM.Beaubourg (talk) 11:09, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why would anyone publically show a picture of their social security card... Nar Matteru (talk) 12:38, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Headshots with photo IDs are usually done for to comply with 2257 and other model release purposes. That image is primary source that is not usable on wikipedia due to WP:Original Research, especially the part where it states "Wikipedia articles should rely on reliable, published secondary sources. All interpretive claims, analyses, or synthetic claims about primary sources must be referenced to a secondary source, rather than original analysis of the primary-source material by Wikipedia editors." Vinh1313 (talk) 16:40, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Keep in mind, however, that there exists on Wikipedia a general acceptance of primary source images; Wikipedia even encourages it, and awards it. Kingturtle (talk) 16:56, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Apples and oranges. Primary sources should not be used to verify claims and WP:BLP comes into play also. The encouragement you are discussing is encouraging people to license or release into the public domain their own works. Vinh1313 (talk) 17:09, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I see. If I am reading it right, your point is that her passport is an original document and cannot be used as a citation. With that I agree. Kingturtle (talk) 17:13, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

If anyone think that her real name as provided by all the available sites is not properly sourced at the moment, it is enough to add the proper tag: [reliable sources?]. Please, in accordance with the rules, don't delete it if you can't provide a better source. At the moment none can state that her real name is not Cindy Renée Volk. As a matter of fact I can tell you as Italian that "Giovanni" is a male personal name, not a surname. Her stage name literaly means: "Air John". Saying "Giovanni was born, ecc." is like saying "John was born...". Her ethnicity is not Italian as well. Vittuone (talk) 13:25, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Problem solved: undisputably reliable source added, that is the book "Good Porn: A Woman's Guide" by Erika Lust a renowned expert. Pag. 187: Giovanni, born Cindy Renee Volk in Long Beach, California, to an Italian-Yugoslav father and a French-German-Irish-Indian mother. Vittuone (talk) 18:20, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Her real name is not Cindy Rene Volk. It is Cindy Renee Preto. See? : http://westernhs94.com/photos.html Volk was her married name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.167.29.250 (talk) 21:29, 9 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Correct Birth Location? edit

according to the current source (an interview of her) she was born in Long Beach however her official website (http://www.ariagiovanni.com/) says she was born in Los Angeles.

Does anyone know the correct location?

Jbhp (talk) 23:11, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ethnicity edit

All the sites on the internet providing her birth name and her actual ethnicity states her birth name is Cindy Renée Volk whereas her ehtnicity is admixed: Slavic, Italian, French, German, Irish, Native American. I've added her birth name and ethnicity in accordance with all the available sources. Since it seems that someone here want to desrcibe her as an American of mere Italian ancestry at any coast while deleting the additional informations that have been regularly added on this topic and while stating the sources provided are not reliable enough, use the proper tag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Verify_credibility. Sourced informations can't be just deleted without providing supposedly better sources. Vittuone (talk) 13:35, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sourced information can be removed if those sources are unreliable. Wikis, forums, etc. are not reliable sources per WP:RS. Also, XMDB cites Wikipedia as a source which makes the reference circular. Dismas|(talk) 12:16, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Problem solved. I've replaced the disputed source with a reliable one. I was right about her ethnicity. See Erika Lust, Good Porn: A Woman's Guide Giovanni, p. 187: born Cindy Renee Volk in Long Beach, California, to an Italian-Yugoslav father and a French-German-Irish-Indian mother. There's also an article in Wikipedia on the author and renowned and porn expert I quote: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erika_Lust. Vittuone (talk) 18:29, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Prod edit

I decided to dispute @Hullaballoo Wolfowitz:'s proposed deletion here because it doesn't look that clear cut. IMDb lists some news articles - I can't actually access most of those links, but entertainment archives don't often last long. Also, isn't a "Penthouse Pet" itself some kind of award or even a secondary summary of a woman's prior modelling? (I'm not at all sure about that)

If it's not viable as a standalone article, the obvious thing is to merge it into some kind of overall "Pet" review with smaller sections about the various actresses in a year. The index on the article indicates some have standalone articles, which can be linked per summary style, but this can handle the others. We shouldn't let a navbox do an article's job ... especially when the "navbox" ends up as a flat list of unlinked names. Wnt (talk) 17:03, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Appearance in "Thirteen Ghosts" ? edit

There are a few online wags claiming she used the name "Shawna Loyer" , and appeared in the film "Thir13en Ghosts" (2001) , as the "Slashed Princess" ghost. The alias was supposedly cooked up , so the main stream film makers could avoid the publicity of hiring an "adult film" actress. Frankly , it's hard to say , the actress is heavily made up … the facial structure looks similar … but … you'd really need the actress or make-up person to confirm it. To date , "Shawna Loyer" has only made one film. 75.104.163.77 (talk) 22:57, 7 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Heels named Aria Giovanni edit

Is that her business venture, or is it just random that high heels are manufactured with her name on them? --2001:4644:DC5B:0:4CF8:E93B:2CFD:AA64 (talk) 01:25, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
