Talk:Appointment of Catholic bishops
question
editIs the approval of the pope required for the consecration of a chorbishop of an Eastern-rite Catholic church? 108.45.151.174 (talk) 00:02, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Wrong way round
editI removed this sentence, as it is not sourced, and it seems to run contrary (to my reading!) of other sources that are on the page, and elsewhere:
My understanding is, rather the church seeking a "rigid separation of the state from religion", it is the church's way of promoting its independence and religious freedom from the state. That is a perhaps small, but important, difference.[1][2] Happy to discuss the point. 49.177.73.238 (talk) 11:30, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
