Dujardin edit

Right now the binomial authority reads:

(Rudolphi, 1809) Dujardin, 1845[1]

I had already cleaned up the citation info ([2]) by the time I noticed a lot of literature said what Dujardin actually mentioned wasn't the same species: [1]. For now I've removed it on the safe side. In any event, he still kept it in the genus Ascaris, so I'm not sure if his name should be cited in the binomial authority field.

Referencing style edit

Hi, does anyone happen to know what the particular referencing style for this article is? Is it alright for me to use APA citation?

Naksuum90 (talk) 05:27, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I hope its alright that I changed the referencing style to APA, as I am contributing a large amount of information to this article. There was only one reference previously, and the referencing style was unidentifiable. Naksuum90 (talk) 12:08, 15 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Naksuum90: this was using Citation Style 1; APA is fine but for websites (e.g., the CDC source) it’s generally good practice to include an access date. Also using the {{doi}} template saves space, as does using link formatting; Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia so you can just make the title of something a link to the URL instead of having the URL written out. Also when you reuse references, the name you give them should be meaningful WP:REFNAME. Right now you’ve named them things like ref name=":1" which isn’t helpful to other, future editors. Also the “Stanford University” reference appears to be some class project, not sure that counts as a reliable source. Especially given it’s a WP:TERTIARY source. Feedback edit

The article is looking good! You asked for feedback so here are a few points I noticed:-

  • "Anisakis simplex, like typical worms from the Anisakidae family has an anal pore, an oral pore and digestive organs, including an oesophagus, a ventriculus and an intestine to aid with ingestion and excretion." You might like to rearrange this sentence so the organs/structures are mentioned in a head-to-tail order, starting with the oral pore.
  • The word "larva" is singular and "larvae" is plural. Try to go with one or the other, with the appropriate part of the verb, and avoid mixing up sentences with singular and plural subjects in one paragraph.
  • That's all, really. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:17, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi! thanks so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I will try to incorporate the suggestions! --Naksuum90 (talk) 15:13, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
