The majority of this article describes the Siege of Phasis. Actual biographical detail of Angilus is almost completely absent. As there is no article of Phasis, recommend that the majority of the article becomes a description of the siege (a Start) and a short item on Angilus, cross referenced to it (stub).Monstrelet (talk) 19:26, 5 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

This could work, but I have not included a full description of the Siege. The article only contains information on its last day. Dimadick (talk) 06:35, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

It would be good if you could use it as a start of a Phasis article - I notice there is an article on the town and its archaeology but very little history. BTW, if you've just written it, where does the rubbish above come from? It seems to date to 2006. Monstrelet (talk) 08:31, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I created a new article on the Siege, with additional text and sources. I could not find sources for a general history of the city. As for the question: The article started out as an article on the character Anguirus, whose alias is supposedly "Angilas". It was turned into a redirect back in 2006. I simply turned the redirect into an article. I though a historical figure had more merits as a central article than an obscure alias of a fictional character. Looks like it is a dead discussion, so it probably won't come back to haunt. I've never seen discussion on a redirect before. Maybe archive it, as it is off putting here? Monstrelet (talk) 12:25, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have moved the content relating to the film monster to Talk:Angilas (Film monster). Next time anyone is tempted to usurp a redirect to write an article about something unrelated to where it's redirecting, please ask an admin to clear the decks for you first, if you don't know how to do it yourself. The history of the original article will still be in there, and it's easier to sort it out before you do any editing than after you've introduced a whole other bunch of history. Still, all sorted now. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 14:39, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
