Incorrect data on Anderson High Schools (Indiana). Please note: Anderson High School was the first city high school in Anderson, Indiana. It was built in the mid-1800s. Madison Heights was first built as a middle school in the 1950s to accommodate south side expansion created by the baby boom generation, and later enlarged to become a high school. It closed in 1996. The Madison Heights High School building was renovated in 2004-2006 and is now the new location for Anderson High School. Anderson currently has two high schools. The other is Highland. Prior to the late 1950s, Highland was a county high school with Lapel and Frankton in the South Madison School Corporation. Again, as Anderson expanded during this period, it became part of the larger Anderson Community School Corporation.

Tempers flared during the closing of the old Anderson High School building (which happened to catch fire shortly after the closing), and also by Madison Heights graduates when their school was renamed Anderson High School. Traditions die hard in this community, and the students in transition acted better than most parents and other adults.

Local Media

Local Media - someone keeps removing two local media sources (print)... Also, I would be a GREAT source for photos/info on the East Central Indiana region... Thanks.

KPaul Mallasch, you're the someone who keeps removing legitimate links on the page and then adding your link spam in order to advertise. Wikipedia isn't the place for it. You're playing games now by replacing those legitimate links while sneaking in your link spam.

The owner of the AFP is the one who continues to trash the page by continually removing legitimate links such as the library and the only local newspaper. All I've done is try to keep the page legitimate by removing the AFP link. The site doesn't belong on Wikipedia, it violates Wiki standards and should be blocked. The AFP is a forum and not a newspaper. Besides other copyright violations which make up the actual site itself, what little that is being presented as 'news' content on the site is actually in violation of copyright law, being stolen and plagiarized from legitimate news gathering sources. The site is only being put on Wikipedia to solicit views for the site which increase his advertising revenue. That's not the purpose of Wikipedia.

   I do agree that the link he is placing on the page is link spam. I am warning the parties involved as a step moving

The owner of the AFP forum, K. Paul Mallasch, is back at it again. He's previously removed legitimate links in order to put up his link spam. Can we get his vandalism of this page blocked and stopped?

Anderson Free Press is not a 'forum' although we have one, and it's not link spam. If you look, there's a lot of valuable local content on the website. If you want, I can send PDFs or an actual print copy of my product. (Why is a link to a corporate owned newspaper not link spam while a link to my site is considered link spam?)

Other people have tried to add the link as well. If you want, I can have them come back to 'talk' to you. Even when they added the link it was removed.

Is wikipedia seriously not interested in great, free local content (photos, recent info on schools, etc.)? As I said, at least one other person has told me they tried to leave a link to a local resource for the area only to have it removed while the corporate newspaper link remains.

Sigh. Ok, I read the "complaint" a little more and think it may be from a competitor of some sort?

I'd like to see proof of something that is plagiarized on the site. There are a lot of times that the local "newspaper" will run a press release labeled as a "Staff Report." I run these too, but I label them as press releases, which is more honest.

As for news content, there are a lot of videos (interviews with the Anderson Mayor, local judges, the police chief and a lot of other people. If this isn't "journalism" I'd like to know what is. As I also mentioned, I have printed copies of my publication as well. I would like to know the real identity of this person libeling me on WikiPedia.

I would suggest checking out WP:COI and WP:EL, and also WP:3RR to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia policies. All three of which may have been broken here. However, if you page does in fact not contain plagiarized or copyrighted materials, and it is in fact a reliable news source, it may have possibly marginal value to the article.Charles Edward (Talk) 12:31, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

The only thing that can be done at this point is to request the page be protected again and continue to revert the edits that violate policy. The final solution would be to have to users IP address blocked, but I am not sure if that the situation yet warrents that. There are forums that you can discuss this at and you can find them by viewing the links i noted above. WP:COI would probably be your route. Charles Edward (Talk) 20:00, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

You're wasting your time with that guy. Besides being a link spammer here, he's also lied to your face. Check his IP (75.2.28.53) on his last message @ 19:34, 21 April 2009 and then check the IP (75.2.28.53) of who's been posting that link as well as messing with the page. It's KPaul Mallasch himself.

Mallasch isn't interested in Wikipedia rules and policies because they are there to prevent what he's trying to do.

Thanks. I'll look into that when I have the time. As I said, I'm not a link spammer. I have a real news site. We even had a print product. I'm willing to talk to someone on the phone to let them know I'm legit. I have a lot of photos/info that could be useful for Wikipedia. I'm not sure who this anonymous person is making these claims against me, but I have a lot of people who don't want my news site to succeed.

Can I ask who added the link to the Herald Bulletin and why they're legit and I'm not? As I said, a while ago (not today) someone else added the link originally. Since then someone has consistently tried to take it off.

There's a LOT more advertising on the "newspaper" website.

Again, someone else added the link originally AFAIK, and I was trying to replace. This anonymous person obviously has something against me personally. Mr. Edwards, again KPaul Mallasch misrepresents himself, his site, and his actions.

He asks who added the Herald Bulletin link and it was Mallasch himself.

All one has to do is look at the history of this page to see that KPaul, along with his link spamming and page vandalism, has also been manipulating edits in order to move his link spam up the list of external links. All violations of WIki rules.

Beside trying to raise a mob on his forum to come over here and cause trouble, his own words show exactly why he wants the link here...advertising. A violation of Wiki rules.

Education Section Redesign

The education section needs to be cleaned, as the current design is lacking in clarity. While there is a lot of information (too much perhaps) about the schools, there needs to be a better layout so that the information is useful.

I would suggest a listing of schools, then a brief history of the school system. Chills42 14:01, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Since there was significant duplication between the school system article and the education section, I moved relevant information to the school corp. page and cleaned up the education section. Chills42 (talk) 18:31, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Notable Citizens

I can't seem to figure out why John Wilkes Booth is considered a notable citizen of Anderson. Nowhere have I found any information confirming it. Perhaps he should be removed from the notable citizens? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.182.164.248 (talk) 19:56, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

I can't find any information about Bryce Brown on the internet. True, I did just do a quick Google search for "Bryce Brown Anderson Indiana". Who is he and why is he on here? I'm going to remove him as he's a "self proclaimed celebrity" with no Wikipedia page. I should put myself on here if that's the case. I don't think you even needed to go to the trouble to google him, the fact that the only description is "self proclaimed celebrity" means there is probably about a 95% chance that it is vandalism.
