Talk:Ancient Age (bourbon)

Suggested merge edit

I suggest to merge Ancient Age and Ancient Age (whiskey). Both are about a whiskey with the brand name Ancient Age. Both of them list both blended whiskey and Bourbon whiskey in the list of brand expressions. Alternatively, if someone thinks they should be kept separate, the first one should perhaps be renamed to "Ancient Age (Bourbon whiskey)" and the second one to "Ancient Age (blended whiskey)", to improve clarity. —BarrelProof (talk) 20:51, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your suggestion. I would not merge due to one is a bourbon and one is a blended whiskey. Although they are both Ancient Age, they are two different products. I do respect your suggestion, but all bourbons are whiskies but not all whiskies are bourbons. Please give me your feed back as I am new and trying to accomplish wiki. --BD (talk) 17:19, 24 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
While I do appreciate the idea that the blended version is somewhat distinct from the straight bourbon version, the separate article strongly duplicated what was already here, and therefore didn't have enough material to warrant a separate article. I did merge in a mention of the blended version, which is consistent with other whiskey brands that include both blended and non-blended versions, such as Bushmills, or other multi-variety brands. (Truthfully, I think we need more such simplicity in articles; just because a different bottle has a different age statement on it doesn't mean that it's a distinct brand worthy of a separate article, nor a separate link in a list article.) oknazevad (talk) 04:36, 13 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
