This is a picture of Jamie Cook and not Alex Turner !!!

Picture

edit

Can someone update the picture to a more recent one? Since he's changed quite a bit in terms of his looks and style since the picture currently in use.

Childhood

edit

Alex Turner had a very lively childhood, since an early age him and he had aspirations of making it big in music, Alex Q-Play was the only one to make it since he was robbed at bus. His bands debut album smashed Freeyork records as the fastest selling debut album ever. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.189.209.229 (talk • contribs) .

How do you define lively childhood?-- The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.33.207.195 (talk • contribs) .

Private Life

edit

I doubt the existence of this "Clare Gordon" doesn't come up on any google search. Reference does not match. Am removing the bit until it is verified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.245.245.21 (talk) 07:25, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've removed it again as it was added by another IP after you removed it. There were several edits by two IPs that added false information (including the bit about Clare Gordon), so I've reverted to an earlier version of the article. —Snigbrook 11:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article says he's with Lilah, but the reference is about Arielle. 132.170.104.72 (talk) 13:17, 20 March 2014 (UTC) anonymousReply

Age?

edit

How old is he - it says he was born in 1986 at the top by his name, but says he was born in 1987 in the info box... how old is he actually?

Unless this means anything I don't know about, it should be deleted:

Ryan Urie?

This is so peculiar. I wonder, does this dancer lives in Vegas? Sounds too familiar to me.

New Band

edit

Should we mention that an associated act would be his new band. I mean in the column under his photo seems reasonable enough to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.221.196 (talk) 00:08, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Didn't know where else to put this so.. Hi, I think we should definitely include more about The Death Ramps because of the fact it's included in the Arctic Monkeys page, and plus the music he's created with that name. It's also a still open band. Started in 2007, and still performing sometimes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.170.186.113 (talk) 17:49, 14 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Tenor or baritone?

edit

If Alex Turner is listed as a tenor on the List of tenors in non-classical music, should he be listed in the list of English tenors, and not English baritones? 2602:306:CD13:5690:4930:735D:EAEF:8A53 (talk) 00:24, 9 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Honestly, I think he should be listed in the English tenors category if listed on the umbrella list. No idea as to why he was listed as a baritone in the first place. Donny (talk) 02:25, 12 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 16 July 2018

edit
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved. I'd usually relist this with a new RM multi, but there is an obvious consensus here with no signs that the dab page will be disrupted by this move, so I'm going to move them now. Popeye191, in the future, please make sure that the destination is not an article already, and if it is, you propose a destination for that page, too. Anarchyte (work | talk) 09:47, 24 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Alex Turner (musician) → I propose his title should be changed to "Alex Turner". He is the primary topic - other entries get single-digit views daily. A disambiguation notice could alert visitors to other possibilities. Popeye191 (talk) 07:59, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

But should the dab page not be "Alex Turner (disambiguation)"? The main topic should be "Alex Turner"Popeye191 (talk) 19:18, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Uncited claim of full name

edit

Personal-life claims about a living person's full name requires WP:RS citing per WP:BLP, one of Wikipedia's core policies. In a quick search, including at AllMusic.com, I could find no RS cite to support that claim. Where did it come from? Is it someone's claim of personal knowledge? All I've seen is forums like Reddit, non-RS sites and the wikia IMDb, which is disallowed as a reference citation. The fact that this purported full name does not seem to appear in any reliable source should be a red flag.--Tenebrae (talk) 22:31, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

In this article, the movie Submarine is not linked because it states “it doesn’t have a Wikipedia page”. However, I believe it does have its own page and it should be linked. Janvan0413 (talk) 06:17, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

In the third paragraph of the intro, there is a link to an article about a band called The Rascals, but it links to a 1965 group and not to the correct one, whose frontman is Miles Kane. Cofcevicz (talk) 20:12, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Cofcevicz: Thanks for reporting the problem. I have redirected the link to The Rascals (English band). Keith D (talk) 22:59, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Picture ( possible vandalism ?)

edit

This picture doesn't look right and has been removed multiple times before. The description is also not right. As a new contributor I could be wrong and I'm sorry if that's the case, but even if it's the wrong picture I wouldn't feel comfortable changing it myself as I don't really know how to properly do it. Can someone help me with this please ? Diamant580 (talk) 21:30, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
