Death of father

I refer to the entry for Alexandra Polizzi: "Polizzi comes from a long line of hoteliers, her grandfather being Lord Forte. Her mother, the hotel designer Olga Polizzi, is Lord Forte's daughter and the sister of Sir Rocco Forte. Her father was Count Alessandro Polizzi, an Italian marquess, who died in a 'racing-car accident' in 1980."

Grew empire worth billions claim

In the introduction to the Fixer TV show, it is claimed she grew one business from one coffee shop to an empire "worth Billions", but this company is not named. What is the basis of this claim?

Polizzi voting leave in the EU referendum

I have removed the addition of a comment about Polizzi supporting the leave campaign in the 2016 referendum as it is just trivia and has no relevance to the subject. As a challenged addition it really needs User:Contaldo80 to gain a consensus to add it again, thanks. MilborneOne (talk) 16:23, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Why has this no relevance to the subject? She's gone on record to talk about this and the sources come from mainstream media. In particular the impact on the hospitality sector - which is her field. Your edit has been challenged so you really need to gain a consensus on here to add it, lots of people have an opinion on lots of things mostly are really trivia and not relevant. As a Brit I am astonished that User:MilborneOne thinks this issue "trivial"! Polizzi is a leading influencer in the British catering and restaurant industry, and a major TV star respected for her expertise. Her Italian heritage in a legendary hospitality dynasty surely adds weight to her opinion about the impact of the UK leaving the European Union. Boswell1740 (talk) 23:08, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

Exactly the argument that I was making. Totally agree. Part of User:MilborneOne's concern was that no-body else had supported by position. But if actually two of us now agree on inclusion and only one editor is opposed then I think we could argue that this is majority in favour. Contaldo80 (talk) 13:02, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

I appreciate it is two against one but the vote was 18 months ago and I suspect it is difficult to find a reliable a reference that her comment swayed any of the voters, bit like all the other celebs and businesspeps who expressed an opinion one way or the other, basically its trivia. Why do we need to demonstrate that her vote swayed any of the voters? That's surely irrelevant. The referendum has fundamentally changed the UK's relationship with the world with dramatic impacts on the economy. Including the tourism and hospitality sector (particularly those). It's hardly trivia. If you're worried about trivia then there's an awful lot in the article where I think there are better grounds to act - her mother owns this, her brother in law does that, her father is etc... Because the reason why you want it included is that Polizzi is influential in the catering and restaurant industry but there is no evidence that her opinion was listened to which rather reduced the comment she made to be similar to hundreds of other personalities of one type or another who expressed an opinion on the referendum. You say the referendum had "dramatic impacts" on the industry, all I was looking for was something that says they voted one way or another because of her comment, otherwise it is just a trvial statement. As to other things you think are trivia they are not the subject of this discussion but you are welcome to start a discussion on them. MilborneOne (talk) 13:41, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

I doubt it's possible to measure the impact of her words. But that doesn't make the words or the intervention trivial. The fact that a number of mainstream media thought the comments worthy enough to include in their coverage suggests they didn't regard it as trivia either. What definition of trivia are you using? Wikipedia:Handling trivia: "It is not reasonable to disallow all information that some editors feel is unimportant, because that information could be important to some readers." Of the two links one doesnt work but the Huffington Post has “The European Union reminds me of an overpriced, badly run hotel." which is a hardly an influential statement to the industry. MilborneOne (talk) 15:02, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Name in intro

The way it currently reads implies that she changed her name. Is her full name still her full legal name, but "Alex Polizzi" is how she is known professionally? —C.Fred (talk) 19:40, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
