Image placement edit

My feeling is that the article is not improved by squeezing images into taxoboxes - certainly the image looks better on its own. If you have another image to put in the taxobox, that's fine with me. Paul venter 11:48, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

If the image is going to be out of the taxobox then it shouldn't be above the taxobox, the taxobox should be in the top right hand corner. As for looking better, that is subjective; I think it looks worse. The image is now smaller and repeats information found in the taxobox (such as the author). I'm not interested in revert warring over something this trivial, however, so I'll just leave a note on the bird project page and see what people think. I'm with Sabine's Sunbird on this. The image looks fine to me in the taxobox, but if you want it somewhere else, under the taxobox or at the end would be good places. —JerryFriedman 22:15, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • nothing obligatory about this Right, because Wikipedians have an aversion to making rules for pedantry. But there is a rule against disrupting Wikipedia to make a point, and changing a convention followed by almost every other taxobox in the tree of life, against the suggestion of three other editors, without an explanation beyond no one says I can't is skating close to that. Please discuss your changes. Sabine's Sunbird talk 20:16, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
