A merge was previously proposed with Aharon HaLevi. This seems inappropriate, as this article is primarily about the Sefer ha-Chinuch, and the view both in 1906 and today is that the Chinuch was not the work of Aharon HaLevi (aka Aaron ben Joseph ha-Levi).

The editors of the 1906 JE therefore created this article for the true author of the Chinuch, presumed to be a different Aaron ha-Levi.

However, at least one strand of present-day scholarship research identifies the true author as the brother of Aharon HaLevi, Pinchas ben Joseph ha-Levi -- so not named Aaron at all.

In view of which, the best place (if any) for the content of this article would seem to be under Sefer ha-Chinuch, rather than here. Jheald (talk) 19:53, 3 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
