File:AIKfotboll.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:AIKfotboll.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

AIK - Almänn IdrottsKlubb edit

The correct translation into / expression in english for "Idrottsklubb" would be Athletic Club and not Sports Club. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.56.249.14 (talk) 12:09, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think that's debatable in this case. — SwedishPenguin | Talk 06:26, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Allmänna Idrottsklubben (literally "The Public Athletics Club") edit

The swedish word "Allmänna" can can be translated to english in several different ways, "Public" is one possible translation, however as i understand from swedish wikipedia the translation should be "General Athletics Club", or possibly "General Sports Club", with the meaning that the club does not specialize in one sport only but in all possible different sports. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.138.134.73 (talk) 08:47, 27 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

It's a tricky question. "Allmänna" means "for all men" and could mean both "public" (open to everyone) or "general" (devoted to all kinds of sports). I believe that the first interpretation is more correct in this case. Many Swedish sports clubs in the early days had a very clear local requirement. Only locals were accepted as members. Djurgården originally only accepted members from this part of town. In the 20's and 30's AIK was hated by other clubs for "stealing" young talents from other clubs.Jokkmokks-Goran (talk) 02:06, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

The "third color" kit edit

This kit is actually their Europa league kit and not used in Allsvenskan at all. Is it possible to change the name of the kit?Jonteemil (talk) 19:48, 12 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

History edit

The contents of History of AIK Fotboll should be summarised in the history section, the same way as in e.g. Malmö FF, IFK Göteborg or Chelsea F.C.. BlueSwede92 (talk) 13:06, 17 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
