Woodhead Pass edit

I can't find anything defining where the Woodhead Pass section starts and finishes. Can anyone help? - BobKilcoyne (talk) 06:49, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I don't think there's a definitive answer. There's no obvious narrow section. You might consider that Longdendale (the valley of the River Etherow) is part of the pass (in which case it would start from somewhere like Tintwistle in the west), or you might decide that it only refers to the high section over the watershed above the Woodhead Tunnel. On the eastern side there's no obvious valley, the road just runs down the side of a hill to the Flouch roundabout and the junction with the A616. Dave.Dunford (talk) 09:54, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
