Color Bars edit

Starting a discussion because a certain editor keeps removing the gray bars for no reason even though multiple editors have told them to knock it off. When there's no colored bar in the infobox, the formatting becomes worse, so it's beneficial to have them. The gray color used is the same color that appears when someone's party is listed as "Nonpartisan." There is very, very little chance that anyone would look at the infobox, see that every candidate has the same colored bar, and assume this must mean that they're all members of some unnamed party. Also, the page literally says they're all Democrats, so I don't see how anyone could be confused about their party registration. There are many Wikipedia pages for nonpartisan elections that use these gray bars in the infobox. Examples: 2023 Colorado Springs mayoral election, 2023 Columbus, Ohio mayoral election, 2023 Dallas mayoral election, 2023 Denver mayoral election, 2023 Green Bay mayoral election, Mayoral elections in Madison, Wisconsin#2023, and 2023 Tampa mayoral election. 2023 Chicago mayoral election doesn't even use gray bars, it has actual colored bars! The removal of the colors was was decided when people kept replacing colors with political parties all the other Los Angeles city council elections don't have what some editors call political colors or color bars as well as people vandalizing the page because color c0c0c0 is the nonpartisan color and people get offended so I would remove the political colors color bars to eliminated as much vandalism and edit wars as possible FYE31 (talk) 02:10, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
FYE31, when was this "decided"? I can't find any mention of this on the talk pages for the 2022 Los Angeles elections. If you acknowledge that c0c0c0 is the nonpartisan color, then what's the problem? If someone "vandalizes" this page than I'll revert it. "Someone might maybe vandalize this in the future maybe" isn't a good enough reason to make the page worse. Also, the reason why the other Los Angeles pages don't have bars is because YOU designed them that way. As I demonstrated, 99% of Wikipedia pages for nonpartisan elections use these bars. Why do you think that Los Angeles elections have different rules than elections in other places? BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 02:43, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
it was decided when they added the infoboxs to the elections the color c0c0c0 the nonpartisan color its political edit users tend to get offended and put political parties on the infoboxs so it was decided that the colors be removed. FYE31 (talk) 03:11, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
FYE31 can you give me a link to a Wikipedia discussion where editors agreed to remove gray bars from the infobox? I highly doubt a discussion would come to this conclusion, especially considering that--once again--99% of Wikipedia pages for nonpartisan elections use the gray bars, and also that you seem to be the only person on all of Wikipedia adamantly insisting that the gray bars need to be removed. Also, even if this supposed discussion took place, that would only apply to that specific page, not any other page. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 06:09, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'll find the discussion can you not revert in till then to make all the Los Angeles election pages look the same. FYE31 (talk) 06:12, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's been almost a week, so I'm guessing you couldn't find the discussion. I can't just take your word for it, especially considering that every other WP page for a nonpartisan election uses gray bars and that you seem to be the only person opposed to them, so I"m re-adding the bars. Again: if the page gets "vandalized" because of the gray bars, I will fix it. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 22:38, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok I have a life out side of wikipedia like work so I'm still find the discussion can you not revert in till then to make all the Los Angeles election pages look the same be patent. FYE31 (talk) 00:56, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
FYE31 "To make all the Los Angeles pages look the same" is not a valid reason. The only reason the other Los Angeles pages don't have gray bars is because YOU removed them. If I went and added gray bars to all the other pages right now, could I come back here and say "well we need gray bars because all the other Los Angeles pages have them" BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 04:09, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I can't wait forever. Since there's no evidence that this discussion ever happened, I'm re-adding the gray bars, so this page's infoboxes will look like the infoboxes on every other Wikipedia nonpartisan election page. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 23:27, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for being patent I found the discuson on the 2022 page thank you FYE31 (talk) 20:07, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
