Lead edit

  • "was a professional snooker tournament that took place in April 1932," - maybe add the exact dates in April 1932?
  • " with the final being held at the Thurston's Hall in London," - the second mention of the word "the" is not needed
  • "The only other participant was Tom Dennis, who was defeated 11-13 by McConachy" - the hyphen should be replaced by an en dash per MOS:DASH
  • Wikilink frame to the relevant article for non-snooker readers

Background edit

  • "persuaded the Billiards Association and Control Council" - the acroynms of the BACC need to be put in brackets and placed after the full name
  • World Championship does not need to be wikilinked twice
  • "For the 1932 championship, preliminary heats and the semi-finals" - the preliminary heats and semi-finals
  • "(equivalent to £367 in 2019)" - how much is it equivalent to in 2021?
  • I can find out, but at the moment the article uses Template:Inflation which only goes to 2019. Let me know if this should be changed to a static "equivalent to x in 2021" . BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 23:03, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • " with a five-guineas sidestake" - no hyphen is needed here

Semi-final edit

  • "McConachy and Dennis played their match from 14 to 16 April Dennis's Billiards Lounge" - missing a word from this sentence
  • "McConachy won three of the frames on the final afternoon to lead 11–9." - a word is missing from this sentence
  • added "four". Also reworded the previous instance of "three of the four" to "all but one of the evening's four frames" to avoid using the phrase three times in quick succession. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 23:10, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • The term break and blacks can be wikilinked to the relevant articles in this section only on the first mention

Final edit

  • "The final was played from Monday 25 April to Saturday 30 April over 49 frames." - don't think the day names are needed here
  • "McConachy had the best break of the day with a 67 in the 8th frame," - highest
  • "McConachy won the first three frames on the fourth day but Davis won the next four and the day ended with Davis 20–12 ahead." - repetition of "won"
  • "McConachy potteed the first red ball," - spelling error
  • "On 99 he snookered himself and fouled the blue." - think a few more words can be added to make it more complete and the words "fouled" and "blue" can be wikilinked to their relevant articles
  • Who was Henry Procter?
  • All addressed - I added a quote from The Times so let me know if that introduced any new issue. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 23:35, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Final (table) edit

  • There are an excess number of citations in one place going against WP:OVERCITE

References edit

  • Reference 1 "Snooker championship"" is missing the page number
  • References 2 and 12 are duplicates
  • Reference 18's formatting is broken with the date field not properly formatted

Have put the review on hold to allow the nominator to address or query each of the points raised above MWright96 (talk) 16:51, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
