I see her page here is 'Úna-Minh Kavanagh', but my understanding is that her surname is 'Caomhánach' - the Irish language version - and part of her first name ('Úna') is also in Irish. So this seems here to be a half-baked translation of her name. I note that ga.wikipedia has her name in Irish, which is how she is commonly addressed. So - what do? This was a very poor name move @Alison:. No supporting evidence was provided other than quoting the Irish language version of Wikipedia and Wikipedia is not to be used as a source. Ignoring the long-standing POV editing of Rossa Ó Snodaigh on such issues, Úna-Minh's name is actually given as Kavanagh more often than the Irish form Caomhánach. Clearly she uses the Irish form in Irish media. In English it is a differnet matter. Note that whilst her Twitter may gave Caomhánach her Twitter handle is @unakavanagh. Likewise her instagram given name is "Úna-Minh Kavanagh". Her YouTube page also uses the English form. Scroll down this page on her blog and she states "All images have been taken by myself Úna-Minh Kavanagh or my Mam, Noreen Kavanagh". On the note of twitter, instagram usernames and such, note that its excludes diacritics so it can hardly be considered evidence for preference. I would opt for a transliteration of my name rather than my name with several characters swapped for these situations. ProfPixels (talk) 09:56, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
That argument is moot if one checks the links provided by me above. Away from the account names which exclude accents, she uses Kavanagh in the actual account pages (twitter excepted) where accents can be used.
