Simona Quadarella

Simona Quadarella (born 18 December 1998) is an Italian swimmer. She is the current world champion of the 1500 m freestyle.[1][clarification needed]

BiographyEdit

She competed in the women's 1500 metre freestyle event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships,[2][3] winning the bronze medal.[4] After her international explosion, which took place in 2017 at the age of 19, Simona Quadarella won 9 international medals in the two-year period 2017-2018 (7 gold and 2 bronze), including a trio of gold medals at the 2018 European Aquatics Championships in 400 m, 800 m and 1500 m freestyle.[5] Than in July 2019, Quadarella won her first world title at the World Championships in Gwangju, taking gold in the 1500 m in a time of 15:40.89.[1] She also won a silver medal in the 800 m race in a time of 8:14.99.
